<hi style=afpcap>The Air Force ordered five Lockheed C-140A Jetstars for MATS Airways and Air Communications Service to calibrate navigational aids at air bases worldwide. The aircraft were fitted with test equipment and spent much of their working day performing overshoots to verify communications and navigational aids were in full working order. The aircraft were painted in a very striking silver, white and cherry red colour scheme, although they were camouflaged laterin their career when they were routinely deployed to Vietnam for calibration duties.</hi>
